The centerless grinding nozzles directly replace the standard waterfall nozzles, which are troubled by the wheel air boundary layer and do not let the coolant wet the grinding wheel. The Cool-Grind nozzle uses flat fan nozzle tips specifically designed with narrow jet angles to each cover 1” of wheel width at 10-12” distance away. The result is a frugal linear jet across the wheel but with a round nozzle aperture that is less prone to clogging. The result is cooler grinding with a much cleaner grinding wheel surface that is less frequently dressed. The diameter of the cross-tube ranges from 3/4” NPT (34) for a 2” to 8” wide nozzle, 1” NPT (44) for 9” to 15”, and 1.25” (54) for 16” to 24”. Longer lengths and different tube sizes to suit your U-clamps, are available as well. The threaded pipe each side of the nozzle section is typically 2”, but a longer length can be supplied. The coolant can be fed from one end of the tube, or a central tee can be welded on for a $50 surcharge. The upper figure shows an endfeed nozzle with optional attachment clamps. Nozzles are priced at $50 per inch x the wheel width. Example nozzle sizes are shown below. Design your ideal nozzle. Contact us with clamp details.
